FIELD: measurement equipment.

SUBSTANCE: method to measure a fuel spray pattern includes probing of the spray with a light sector along the nozzle axis, registration of a signal that carries information on brightness contrast of the longitudinal spray cut image with a matrix photodetector, and subsequent measurement of the angle within the specified area of the longitudinal spray cut. Probing of the spray along the axis of the nozzle is carried out by two light sectors, and to record signals that carry information about brightness contrasts of images of two appropriate longitudinal cuts of the fuel spray, they use simultaneously two matrix photodetectors, which differ by spectral sensitivity.

EFFECT: increased accuracy of spray pattern measurement.
