FIELD: measurement equipment.
SUBSTANCE: method to detect thickness of a salt deposit contaminated by radionuclides of natural origin, on inner surfaces of pipelines of oil and gas production marine platforms, where they determine calibration dependence of coefficient of transmission of gamma quanta from thickness of the salt deposit under laboratory conditions according to the previously selected samples of pipelines of different models with salt deposits of different thickness, they measure speed of pulse count from background gamma radiation on the pipeline sample without salt deposit, measure speeds of pulse count of the summary background gamma radiation and gamma radiation of the source, determine speed of pulse count from gamma quanta of the source, which passed through the pipeline sample, measure speeds of pulse count of the summary background gamma-radiation and gamma-radiation of the source, determine speed of pulse count from gamma quanta of the source, which passed through the investigated section of the pipeline, determine the coefficient of transmission of gamma radiation of the investigated section of the pipeline, determine thickness of salt deposit on the investigated section of the pipeline by the value of its coefficient of gamma radiation passage and the produced calibration dependence.
EFFECT: increased accuracy of detection of salt deposit thickness on inner pipeline surface, provision of pipeline state monitoring without sampling and without interruption of technological process of oil production, provision of the possibility to use the method for non-radioactive salt deposit.
