FIELD: measuring.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to detection of radiation environment based on data of aerial radiation reconnaissance of the terrain. Invention consists in that aerial radiation survey is carried out by tacking using gamma-spectrometer. Tacking pitch and the flight speed are set such that the recorded values of the number of pulses at each detection point are summed with the values of the number of pulses at nearby detection points. Result of processing obtained data is detection of radioactive contamination of area.

EFFECT: low value of the lower detection limit, which increases sensitivity of the detecting equipment of the airborne radiation survey system to detection of radionuclides for a given detection probability.
