FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: brake pad is subjected to negative hardening by heating to 950-1000°C, held for 2 hours and cooled down with the furnace to get the ferrite-graphite microstructure consisting of ferrite alloyed with manganese, silicon and phosphorus and free graphite.
EFFECT: improved mechanical properties, longer life and wear resistance of frictional pair pad-wheel.
