SUBSTANCE: strain of Lactobacillus plantarum RNCIM B-12076 and the strain of Lactobacillus brevis RNCIM B-12077 are proposed, capable of synthesis of gamma-aminobutyric acid and having probiotic properties. The strains were isolated from the gastrointestinal tract of humans and are deposited in RNCIM. The amount of gamma-aminobutyric acid synthesised by the strain of Lactobacillus plantarum RNCIM B-12076 is about 210 mcg/ml, and by the strain of Lactobacillus plantarum RNCIM B-12077 - about 800 mcg/ml.
