SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of conditioning the humidity of tobacco material, in which the tobacco material and the steam are fed into the inner space of the rotor for controlling the humidity of the tobacco material, when the tobacco material passes through the inner space of the rotor, comprising: a process of determining the temperature of the output material for the tobacco material just discharged from the outlet opening of the rotor, while the steam is fed to the inner space of the rotor with a rate of feeding; a process in which the first deviation is obtained, between the target temperature of the tobacco material in the outlet opening of the rotor and the temperature of the output material; and the main control process, in which the rate of feeding is controlled based on the reference rate of steam according to the first deviation, and the main control process comprises: selection of the control area corresponding to the first deviation, of the plurality of the control areas, demarcated according to the value and positiveness/negativeness of the first deviation, and steam feeding rate control in accordance with the control procedure of the selected control area.
EFFECT: provision of moisture content of the tobacco material to impart it with the required flexibility.
