FIELD: radio engineering, communication.

SUBSTANCE: method includes creating a model of a communication system, simulating a load and simulating the emergence of tell-tale features of elements of the communication network. The method includes measurement of the obtained tell-tale features and calculating the information value thereof. Further, the method includes calculating the time during which a tell-tale feature is available for the inspection (survey) means and calculating a substantial set of the information measure; ordering the tell-tale features and recording the result in a matrix; assigning each measured tell-tale feature a cost value for creating a measurement channel; calculating the relative cost of creating a measurement channel; selecting matrix elements and corresponding cost values of creating a measurement channel; calculating the probability of breaking into the communication system; comparing with the required break in probability; determining a set of the most significant tell-tale features by successively extracting tell-tale features from the matrix.

EFFECT: significant reduction of the number of parameters controlled by the control system.
