FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: described is a method of producing an anti-turbulent additive for organic media for reducing hydrodynamic resistance during transportation of hydrocarbon substances. The method includes catalytic mass or solvent polymerisation of alpha-olefins while mixing the reaction medium at a rate which enables to maintain, for the initial mixture, a centrifugal Reynolds number in the range of 400-2700 at 0-30°C. The obtained polymer has characteristic viscosity not less than 1.7 m3/kg. When conducting mass polymerisation, conversion of monomers into the polymer is (5-15)%. When conducting polymerisation in an organic solvent, conversion of monomers into the polymer is (85-99)%.

EFFECT: obtaining effective anti-turbulent additives for organic liquids.
