FIELD: engines.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to reversal of internal combustion engines (ICE). This invention consists in fact that for reversal of ICE control system with closed gas-distributing valve connects shaft of a reversing starter mechanism to ICE crank and rotates crankshaft in preset direction of rotation. When piston of ICE is in vicinity of top dead center position fuel supply system supplies fuel to combustion chamber of engine and if necessary a spark plug ignites it. Fuel is supplied using, independent of mechanical connection with ICE crank, a fuel feed system in ICE combustion chamber, for example pneumatic, hydraulic, piezoelectric etc. After piston passes through top dead center, control system disconnects shaft of reversing starter mechanism with crank. After completion of expansion of combustion products of hydraulic drive system of gas distributor with double flap system accumulator fluid recharging of compensatory accumulator and gas control valve stem connected inlet and outlet enables gas exchange valve in combustion engine in a predetermined direction of rotation of crankshaft.

EFFECT: high efficiency of system operation in reverse.
