FIELD: engines.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to reversal of internal combustion engines (ICE). This invention consists in that for reversal of ICE in preset direction of crankshaft rotation, control system with closed gas-distributing valve connects shaft of reversing starter mechanism to crankshaft, and rotates its crankshaft in preset direction of rotation. At position of ICE piston near upper dead center, fuel feed system supplies fuel to combustion chamber of ICE and ignites its with ignition plug. For fuel supply, fuel feed system to combustion chamber is employed independent of mechanical connection to crankshaft, for example pneumatic, hydraulic, piezoelectric, etc. Fuel burns, and after piston passed upper dead center, control system disconnects shaft of reversing starter mechanism from crankshaft. At end of combustion products expansion, system of two-valve gas distributor pneumatic drive provides gas exchange in ICE at specified direction of crankshaft rotation. Gas distributor is made in form of gas distributing valve, and inlet and outlet valves interconnected by rod, and charging pneumatic accumulator with gas is performed from compensating pneumatic accumulator.

EFFECT: technical result is higher efficiency of reverse system operation.
