SUBSTANCE: invention relates to reversal of internal combustion engines (ICE). This invention consists in following: for reversal of ICE crankshaft in preset rotation direction, control system with closed gas-distributing valve connects shaft of reversing starter mechanism to ICE crankshaft and rotates its crankshaft in preset rotation direction. When piston ICE is near top dead center, fuel feed system supplies fuel to ICE combustion chamber, and if necessary, ignites its spark-plug. Independently of mechanical connection to crankshaft, system, for example pneumatic, hydraulic, or piezoelectric, supplies fuel to combustion chamber. After piston passed TDC, control system disconnects shaft of reversing starter mechanism from crankshaft. Pneumatic drive system provides gas exchange in internal combustion engine at preset crankshaft rotation direction. Pneumatic accumulator is charged by atmospheric air, and two-valve gas distributor comprises pressure control valve and inlet and outlet valves connected to stick.
EFFECT: technical result is higher efficiency of system reverse operation.
