FIELD: weapons and ammunition.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ground tests, particularly for determination of ballistic characteristics of projectiles. Method consists in measuring velocity based on fixation of time intervals in span of projectiles relative to two spaced apart proximity detectors, formation of the measurement field of proximity detectors in the form of a two-dimensional grid on the basis of execution of the design of proximity sensors in the form of two lines of radiators and photodetectors placed in vertical and horizontal planes, determination of shell flight coordinates based on fixation of combination of actuated elements of photoreceivers, determining angles nutation based on measurement of basic elements of movement relative to the mass center, determination of experimental dependencies nutation angles of distances, determining experimental dependencies angle nutation time and determining the nature of change of angular rates nutation motion, determining the state of the barrels on the basis of comparison of current angles nutation with given values, is placed on the path of shells of certain number of proximity detectors and the characteristic size of holes on each of the target and the shape of holes on the basis of comparison of the combination of actuated elements of photoreceivers with preset values.
EFFECT: technical result is higher information content owing to determining motion parameters of projectiles relative to the mass center.
