FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to chemical engineering. Method of manufacturing includes impregnating carbon fibres with molten silicon with removal of excess silicon by dissolving in a mixture of hydrofluoric and nitric acid. Resultant filter material is formed from silicon carbide filaments in form of a textile mesh fabric.
EFFECT: invention provides a high-temperature filter material in form of plates, inert with respect to acidic and alkaline media.
