FIELD: search equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to sonar and is intended for detecting underwater targets in remote regions at considerable distances from point of observation. Disclosed is a method for automatically controlled active protection of objects on side of aqueous medium with increased range of detecting targets includes longitudinal sounding of water column and receiving probing signals reflected from target, longer detection range of targets is realised by automatically controlled establishing position emitting antenna sonar depth and inclination angle of its emission and reception relative to horizontal direction along vertical distribution of sound speed in water layer produced by means of measuring device (1). Based thereon, unit (2) calculates depth and inclination angle of emission and reception antenna, required for detecting underwater targets in water column in a specified zone or at maximum distance from point of radiation. Resultant values of said parameters of antenna are input for execution into unit (3), which sets position of radiating antenna (4) on depth and inclination of its emission and reception. As in conventional sonar, location of detected targets and motion parameters thereof within sector of radiation is carried out at time of arrival of probing signals reflected from target relative to moment of radiation of probing signal taking into account speed of sound in water and known position of sonar.
EFFECT: technical result of present invention is longer range of detection of targets in complicated conditions of real water areas.
