FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: disclosed system for hydrolocation of targets can be used in protecting coastal facilities or vessels on a moorage from the side of the water environment, monitoring the underwater environment and condition of underwater structures, passages into bays and ports, bridges, channels, water areas for hydro- and nuclear power stations. In the disclosed system for hydrolocation of targets, low-frequency probing signals are generated via nonlinear frequency conversion in an emitter. Low-frequency probing signals reflected from underwater targets are received by receivers associated with the emitter, which are located in an exposure sector between the emitter and the remote targets, and the time of arrival at the receivers of direct probing signals and probing signals reflected from the targets, measured from the time of emission, is recorded in an electronic data processing system.
EFFECT: longer range of detecting underwater targets in shallow water conditions and determination of the location and motion parameters of the detected target.
