FIELD: physics; measurement.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to hydrolocation and is meant for detecting objects in shallow water environment. In the method of detecting objects during hydrolocation, reception of probing signals from an object during hydrolocation is done using a receiver combined with an emitter and several receivers in water, spread out from the emitter, the coordinates of which are known. The time at which probing signals reflected from the object arrive at the receiver is recorded. Location of the object is determined from observing different times of arrival of probing signals reflected from the object at the receiver.
EFFECT: efficient detection of an object in shallow water environment and determination of its location.
