FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: use: for magnetic resonance imaging of at least a part of patient's body. Substance of the invention consists in exposing a part of body to an imaging sequence comprising at least one RF pulse with the latter transferred towards the part of body through a RF coil assembly, wherein RF signals are transferred by means of two or more RF power amplifiers; the RF power amplifiers are actuated one at a time during the imaging sequence in the form of time-division multiplexing; the imaging sequence needs an RF pulse ratio and/or duration exceeding the requirements of at least one of the RF power amplifiers; MR signals are received from the part of body, and an MR image is reconstructed on the basis of the received MR signals. Besides, the present invention refers to a method for MR spectroscopy using the actuation of the RF power amplifiers one at a time with time-division multiplexing.
EFFECT: enabling the generation of long RF pulses with the improved B1-field RF uniformity with preserving or minimising SAR contribution.
