FIELD: manufacturing technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods for producing icy slush using refrigeration and can be implemented in fishing, poultry and dairy industries.
Method includes pre-cooling a stream of water to a temperature close to freezing temperature, then cooling stream of water to a temperature below 0°C in channels of a heat exchanger of a nonmagnetic material while exposing stream cooling water to a magnetic field along length of channel. Water flow rate in cooled channels from non-magnetic material is selected from ratio: where:
w - water velocity in cooling passage, m/s,
l - size of channel, m,
µ - coefficient of dynamic viscosity of water, Pa·s,
ρ - density of water, kg/m3,
Re - Reynolds number equal to 2300.
EFFECT: compared to counterparts, method enables to obtain a continuous flow of ice slush with uniform ice granules, and is characterised by minimum noise level and high energy efficiency.
