FIELD: electricity.

SUBSTANCE: application: in electrical engineering. The device comprises two back-to-back connected hybrid switches (100) containing parallel connection of non-controlled current direction-dependent switch (12) and controlled switch (18), at that inner connection point between hybrid switches forms the third output. Two switches (100) with one first and one second outputs may be introduced into the first wire of DC-network. The device comprises two polarized damping links (200), which are manufactured to receive energy only in one polarity of the applied terminal voltage, at that the first one is connected to the first output of in-series hybrid switches and may be connected to the second wire of DC-network and/or earth potential, while the second one may be connected to the second output of in-series switches (100) and may be connected to the second wire of DC-network and/or earth potential. The device also comprises current pulse generator (300), which in response to control command generates unidirectional current pulse sent through the third output and polarized damping links (200), so that current direction in one of hybrid switches (100) may be reversed for short period of time.

EFFECT: providing fast and reliable switching processes in combination with good overvoltage damping.
