SUBSTANCE: method includes measuring longitudinal wave velocities in a geological formation surrounding a first well to obtain data on the measured longitudinal wave velocities and for subsequent determination of corrected longitudinal wave velocities for the first well. Said corrected longitudinal wave velocities for the first well may be determined using a combination of data on the measured longitudinal wave velocities and data on the corrected longitudinal wave velocities associated with one or more second wells, as well as data on corrected longitudinal wave velocities associated with one or more second wells obtained directly based on data on measured transverse wave velocities in accordance with one or more second wells. Data on predicted pore pressure for the first well may be generated using the corrected longitudinal wave velocities.
EFFECT: high accuracy and reliability of obtained data.
