SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods for obtaining an active aluminum hydroxide, suitable for obtaining an effective coagulant - aluminium chlorohydrate as well as catalysts, desiccants and sorbents. method comprises mixing crystalline aluminum salts and sodium carbonate in the solid form of sodium carbonate at a rate of 4-6 moles per 1 mole of Al2O3. As aluminum salt take its nitrate Al(NO3)3·9H2O or chloride AlCl3·6H2O. Reaction mixture is leached with water at a temperature of not higher than 50°C to produce a slurry, which is isolated from the aluminum sludge. Precipitate was washed with water at a temperature of 60-80°C to a pH value of the washing water is not more than 7.5, and dried.

EFFECT: obtaining chemically active with respect to hydrochloric acid, aluminum hydroxide, reduction of liquid waste, improving ecological method.
