FIELD: construction.
SUBSTANCE: road milling machine comprises a controller to perform operations of movement, steering and milling, a frame (2) adjustable along height with the help of lifting columns (3), chassis with at least rear movable units (4) of a movement drive. Each unit is equipped with a movement drive (36). Units (4) are arranged at lower ends (18) of lifting columns (3). A working drum (5) is placed on the frame (2) of the machine. A rotary lever (6) is made as capable of rotation around a rotary axis (30). The rotary lever (6) connects the rear lifting column (3) with the frame (2) of the machine in a turning manner and moves the unit (4) of the drive from the first external extreme position (12) to the second internal extreme position (14) and back. The drive (36) of movement of the rotary movable unit (4) is designed for use as the first driving device influencing the rotary lever (6) for rotary movement of the rotary lever (6). A controller is made as capable of regulating the drive (36) of movement of the rotary movable unit (4) of the drive and the angle of rotation of the rotary movable unit (4) of the drive so that the rotary movable unit (4) of the drive is movable from the first external extreme position (12) into the second internal extreme position (14) and back. The rotary movable unit (4) of the drive is in permanent contact with ground surface. The method of rotation of the rotary movable unit (4) inside and outside in the drive of the road milling machine (1) includes a stage, when they use a drive (36) of movement of the rotary movable unit (4) of the drive for rotation of the rotary lever (6) from one extreme position (12; 14) into the other extreme position (14; 12). The rotary movable unit (4) of the drive is in permanent contact with the ground surface, and also a stage, when they control the angle of rotation and at least the drive (36) of movement of the rotary movable unit (4) of the drive so that the rotary movable unit (4) of the drive may move from the first external extreme position (12) into the second internal extreme position (14) and back.
