FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: optical lens device includes front and rear arched lenses. The rear arched lens is situated in the immediate vicinity of the front arched lens such that said lenses form a cavity in between with an optical axis which passes through the front and rear arched lenses, at least one of which has a meniscus wall. The cavity contains a volume of a physiological solution, which contains one or more zwitterions, and a volume of oil, which form a liquid meniscus which crosses the optical axis.
EFFECT: improved electrical characteristics of the liquid meniscus lens owing to the use of a highly effective electro-wetting physiological solution.
