SUBSTANCE: method includes impregnating a support with aqueous silver nitrate solution and reducing silver. Impregnation is carried out consecutively with equimolar aqueous solutions of silver nitrate and potassium bromide, followed by consecutive treatment with aqueous solutions of a reducing agent and a silver bromide solvent.
EFFECT: method enables to obtain silver catalysts having high activity with low silver content.
