FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to experimental physics and is intended for measuring a spin vector component which is predominant in a particle beam. The disclosed spin detecting device consists of a spin rotator (1) having a switchable coil (5), a deflection device (7), a spin detector (9) and a switching unit (15) which enables switching of the excitation state of the coil (5). The investigated particle beam passes through the spin rotator (1) with the switchable coil (5). Further, the beam is deflected by a certain angle using the deflection device (7), after which the beam falls on the detector (9) which measures two spin vector components perpendicular to the direction of movement of the beam. All the three spin vector components are measured by varying the value and/or sign of the current in the coil, thereby rotating the particle spin by different angles.

EFFECT: enabling measurement of three spin vector components.
