FIELD: engines and pumps.

SUBSTANCE: network (2) comprises at least one pump station (4) and several pumps (6) to force fluid to the feed main line (8). It includes means (10) is meant for determination of at least one flow rate magnitude (Q) of at least the part of said network (2) while the control unit controls the operation and rate of pumps (6) of station (4) in compliance with the preset curve (20) of delivery characteristics. Said curve defines the ratio between pressure (22) and fluid flow rate (24), fluid being forced by station (4). The control unit can automatically vary said curve (20) in compliance with at least one defined fluid flow rate magnitude (Q). The latter makes the definite maximum fluid flow rate (Qmax) and/or minimum flow rate (Qmin) of fluid forced by station (4) during the preset time interval. The control unit can correct the maximum and minimum flow rate curve of the delivery characteristics in compliance with the defined maximum and/or minimum flow rates.

EFFECT: minimised fluid losses, automatic adaptation to actual pressure or to flow rate characteristics of the network.
