SUBSTANCE: invention relates to wireless communication systems. The method comprises: selecting a media access control header type from a plurality of types based on an indication of information stored in a receiver, wherein the first header type comprises a plurality of fields and the second header type comprises a subset of the plurality of fields, the said subset from the plurality of fields comprising the first number of fields which is less than the said plurality of fields, wherein the first header type and the second header type comprise a frame control field, the frame control field indicating one of the first header type or the second header type, wherein the first header type includes a duration field and the second header type does not include a duration field, and sending the medium access control header of the selected type to the receiver.
EFFECT: faster data transmission in a network.
