SUBSTANCE: disclosed is a method executed at least in part in a mobile device for displaying a street view of a certain location on the mobile device. The method includes a step of determining a location and determining a view of the location to be displayed. Further, the method includes starting to retrieve images and data associated with the view to be displayed, wherein the images are retrieved by scheduling image requests such that image elements for the centre of the street view and associated with a building are received with higher priority compared to image elements on the direction to the sides of the street view.
EFFECT: reducing delays when retrieving images to enable display of a street view in a mapping application.
