FIELD: oil and gas industry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to oil industry and can be used in production of water-swellable packers. Swellable packer comprises housing and swelling material. Swelling material is three-layered, as first layer of swelling material used from 2 to 5 interlayers of material with tensile strength of about 15-25 kg/cm², tensile elongation of about 65-75% and swelling in water of about 150-200%. As second layer of swelling material used from 2 to 6 interlayers of material with tensile strength of about 20-30 kgf/cm², tensile elongation of about 45-55% and swelling in water of about 200-250%. As third layer swelling material used from 2 to 8 interlayers of material with tensile strength of about 25-35 kgf/cm², tensile elongation of about 30-40% and swelling in water of about 250-300%. Initial material of first interlayer of first layer is glued to housing, and all initial materials of all layers are subjected to combined and simultaneous curing.

EFFECT: technical result is increasing in insulating capacity of packer.
