FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for selective extraction of Fe (III) and Zn (II) ions from aqueous solutions of their salts by extraction with a mixture of tributyl phosphate (TBP). Method involves treating solution and extraction agent, contact of solution and extraction agent. Method includes adding an extractant in concentrations 2 n. HCl, 240 g/dm3 NaCl and a temperature t = 60 °C with minimal contact time of solution and extractant in interval of 10-60 minutes for almost complete extraction of iron in first portions of extractant with minimum extraction of zinc. After extraction of iron, zinc phosphate is almost completely extracted by extraction with TBP in concentration 3 n. HCl, 240 g/dm3 NaCl and a temperature t = 20 °C.

EFFECT: technical result consists in efficiency of selective extraction of Fe (III) and Zn (II) ions from aqueous solutions using cheap extractant and due to reduction of extractant consumption with addition thereof in portion.
