FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: method for selective extraction of Zn (II) and Cu (II) ions from aqueous solutions by extraction with tributyl phosphate involves contacting the extractant and solution, stirring the mixture, settling and separating phases. Selective extraction of Zn (II) and Cu (II) ions from aqueous solutions of a mixture of salts thereof is carried out first by extraction of Zn (II) ions with tributyl phosphate from an aqueous solution with concentration of 3N HCl, 240 NaCl g/dm3 and temperature 20 °C portionwise TBP added. Zinc ions are then re-extracted from the extract with water and copper is extracted from the raffinate. From raffinate after extraction of zinc with tributyl phosphate copper can be extracted by electrolysis, hydrolytic deposition, in form of copper sulphide.
EFFECT: method provides high selectivity of extraction of zinc and copper ions from aqueous solutions of their salts.
