FIELD: electric power engineering.
SUBSTANCE: use: in electric power engineering. Device includes an apparatus for grounding a contact line support, having an extended earthing device connected through a polarising diode unit and a throttle-transformer of a rail network with a rail feeder of a DC traction substation. Between polarising diode unit and throttle-transformer of a rail network there is a current sensor, output of which is connected to programmable control unit, connected by its output to a high-speed switch of contact system.
EFFECT: technical result is high efficiency of current protection of feeders of DC traction substations.
