FIELD: electric engineering, in particular, provision of electric power to electrified railroads, possible use in contact networks having devices for protection from short circuits in case of disruption of isolation on supports of contact network.
SUBSTANCE: in contact network, which contains carrier cable, strings, contact wire, console, traction bar, holder rods on each support, while carrier cable, strings, contact wire are separated from metallic elements of fixture on support of aforementioned elements by means of isolators, it is suggested to install interconnected radio transmitter and voltage sensor between metallic fixture elements and support, which ensure recording of appearance of voltage on support in case of isolator penetration and transmission of radio signal for disabling electric power in contact network.
EFFECT: increased reliability due to prevented artificial shorting of contact network and a rail, disabling of fast action machines on protected zone without short circuit currents, indication of damaged isolator without damage to support.
