DIAGNOSTIC TECHNIQUE FOR PORTAL HYPERTENSION ACCOMPANYING CHRONIC DIFFUSE HEPATIC DISORDERS Russian patent published in 2016 - IPC A61B8/06 A61B10/02 G01N33/49

Abstract RU 2581710 C2

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely hepatology and ultrasonic diagnostics, and can be used for diagnosing portal hypertension accompanying chronic diffuse hepatic disorders. A biochemical blood assay is performed. A hepatic tissue is sampled. The findings of the above are used to facilitate setting a degree of activity of a chronic hepatic disorder. Haemodynamics measures in a portal and splenic vein are detected by Doppler sonography. A congestion index in the portal vein is calculated by formula. A congestion index in the splenic vein is calculated by formula. If the chronic hepatic disorder is of moderate activity, whereas the congestion index in the portal vein is exceeded more than 0.015, and the congestion index in the splenic vein - more than 0.039, or if the chronic hepatic disorder is characterised by high activity with the congestion index in the splenic vein exceeded more than 0.018 and the congestion index in the portal vein more than 0.051, the onset of portal hypertension at the early pre-cirrhotic stage is stated.

EFFECT: technique enables the higher quality of diagnosing portal hypertension at the early pre-cirrhotic stage, before clinical manifestation; it also ensures predicting the clinical course of the disease and controlling the clinical effectiveness by assessing the laboratory and histological findings and heamodynamic measures in the portal and splenic veins.
