DIAGNOSTIC TECHNIQUE FOR LIVER PULP FIBROSIS IN CHILDREN Russian patent published in 2014 - IPC A61B8/08

Abstract RU 2515155 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: what is involved is ultrasonic testing with using Toshiba Aplio XG V4 ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus by technique for the structural assessment of the liver pulp and a degree of fibrosis intensity ASQ. The procedure starts with the qualitative assessment of the liver pulp: colour dying of the liver tissue in red against the background of green of the normal liver pulp. The red-marked fibrous regions of the liver tissue limit zones of interest for the following diagnostic stage. A zone of interest of the liver pulp is marked, and pre-diagnostic histogram is plotted: the more homogenous tissue is, the less variations are observed on the curve, the more variations are presented, the more intensive fibrosis is. The comparative analysis covers the zone of interest of the liver pulp, and a graph of density frequency function is plotted, and a density index is calculated. If the horizontal histogram distribution on the abscissa is ≥250 units, a variation amplitude of the graph of density frequency function on the ordinate is ≥1.0 units, a density index is 1.29-1.79, minimally manifested fibrosis is diagnosed. If the horizontal histogram distribution on the abscissa is >300 units, a variation amplitude of the graph of density frequency function on the ordinate is ≥1.2 units, a density index is 1.80-2.7, manifested fibrosis is diagnosed. If the horizontal histogram distribution on the abscissa is >350 units, a variation amplitude of the graph of density frequency function on the ordinate is ≥1.5 units, a density index is 2.71-4.90, hepatic cirrhosis is diagnosed.

EFFECT: objective results of the structural assessment of the fibrosis stage.
