FIELD: ecology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to measurement of quality of grass cover at view complexes grasses and herbs on samples, mainly on floodplain meadows, and can be used in ecological and process monitoring areas with grass cover. Invention also relates to landscape small rivers with meadow vegetation and can be used in assessing stability of species variety of grass by presence of individual plants for several years. Method is characterised by that small river or its inflow, visually by map or natural selected section of floodplain meadows with grass cover. Marking is performed on selected section downstream of small river or its inflow in characteristic points at least three gauging ranges in transverse direction. Marking is performed along each hydrometrical cross section at least three sample sites on both sides of small river or its inflow. For counting variety of grass types in section of floodplain meadow point are future centres standard sample sites and in these points of permanent pegs with numbers standard sample sites. Relative to centres of standard sample sites annually counted number of types of herbs. Then summed amount for all standard test sites for all year counting for each type of grass. Statistical modelling of detecting law of distribution of the rank relative occurrence of each type of all trial for all year counting types of grass relative to pegs. This law includes trend and wave components in general formula asymmetric wavelet signal. Ratio of trend to actual values of relative occurrence is accepted as stability index for all types of herbs. Minimum value of this ratio is taken as characteristic of resistance of grass cover on all measured sections of meadow. For this characteristic stability compared different sections of meadow on delivery of small river.
EFFECT: method provides more accurate accounting for availability of types of grass and herbs at all trial for several years, simplified analysis of species composition of only from number of types on trial, improved functional capabilities of analysis of stability of grass on relative occurrence of each type of all trial at section for several years, without cut from sample sites grass samples.
