FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to workpieces hardening processing. Providing transmission of contact point of deforming tool and part of electric current pulses. Deforming tool pressure is carried out on workpiece surface and deforming ultrasonic vibrations tool. Contact point of deforming tool and workpiece is subjected to electric current with density i<i min, wherein i min is electric current density, at which phase transitions occur in workpiece material, which lead to formation of hardened surface layer with fine martensite-white layer. Perform ultrasound oscillations with amplitude a=p a/2πρ·ν·c, wherein p a is acoustic pressure to create plastic deformation at given depth of surface layer; ρ is density of processed material; ν is frequency of ultrasonic oscillations; c is ultrasonic wave propagation speed in processed material.
EFFECT: result is increased contact durability and durability of parts.
