FIELD: acoustics; instrumentation.

SUBSTANCE: silencer is designed for damping noise of compressor stations and test boxes for gas turbine engines. Silencer comprises a cylindrical base, ejector, a grid on which a sound-absorbing unit consisting of sections, each section arranged in layers single absorbers, and in upper part of silencer is element of screen type, which includes a cylindrical shell, on top of which is connected with cover consisting of perforated layer and sound absorber, exhaust holes are made in form of slots made along periphery of shell, and are lined with sound absorbing material, single absorbers are composed of two concentric 3D surfaces of regular polyhedrons, one of surfaces: external - is perforated, and other one: inner solid, and in gap between surfaces of sound-absorbing element, wherein surfaces are connected to each other by means of at least two sleeves, performing function of necks of Helmholtz resonator formed by cavity inside solid surface regular polyhedron, at same time to each section of sound absorbing block with inner side is rigidly attached sound absorbing structure made in form of solid and perforated walls, between which there is a sound absorber made up of two layers: layer from sound reflecting material, a complex profile facing single sound absorbers and composed of evenly distributed hollow tetrahedrons, which enable to reflect sound waves incident in all directions, and adjacent to it sound-absorbing layer.
