SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to determine presence of an external component in a gas medium and its concentration. Device for identifying an external component of any gas mixture and determining partial pressure of said external component, a gas mixture consisting of two volumes forming measuring volume and, respectively, defining measurement conditions, closed gas manifold through compressor on one pair of nozzles corresponding volume on one side and by electronic controlled valve on other pair of fittings on other side, inlet and outlet volumes of same electronic controlled valves in each volume sensors are placed, precisely determining partial pressure of at least one component of gas mixture Pi and Pi+1…g, where i and i+1 … represent components of original gas medium, device is configured to achieve a plurality of stable states, characterised by a common pressure in each of volumes, respectively, P1 and P2, differing by ΔP, which are recorded total pressure sensors in each of volumes, while microprocessor provides implementation of a mathematically rigorous algorithm of a physical model of qualitative and quantitative determination of an external component of gas mixture.
EFFECT: invention enables to determine presence of an external component in a gas medium and its concentration independent of external factors, such as weather conditions and total pressure in gas medium.
