SUBSTANCE: invention relates to means of expansion of bandwidth. According to method of bandwidth expansion low frequency band width signal is converted into QMF area to form first low-frequency QMF spectrum; signals with shifted main tone generated by applying various shift factors to low-frequency bandwidth signal; high-frequency QMF spectrum by means of stretching in time signals with shifted main tone in QMF region; high-frequency QMF spectrum is modified and modified high-frequency QMF spectrum combined with first low-frequency QMF-spectrum.

EFFECT: technical result consists in providing possibility of reducing amount of computations while widening bandwidth and suppression of deterioration of quality in width of band to be extended.
