FIELD: acoustics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to means for processing an audio signal using horizontal phase correction. Basic audio coding is performed to obtain a basic encoded audio signal having a reduced number of subbands relative to the audio signal. Audio signal or a low-pass filtered version of the audio signal is analysed to obtain an estimate of the fundamental frequency of the audio signal. Parameters of the audio subbands that are not included in the basic encoded audio signal are extracted. Output signal containing the basic encoded audio signal, parameters and an estimate of the fundamental frequency is generated.

EFFECT: higher efficiency of audio signal processing.
