FIELD: medicine, pharmaceutics.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to pharmaceutical industry, namely to a method of treating a neurological disorder specified in Alzheimer disease, Huntington disease and cerebral accident. A method of treating a neurological disorder specified in Alzheimer disease, Huntington disease and cerebral accident in an individual involving: administering a composition containing a cardiac glycoside in an effective amount, wherein the cardiac glycoside is oleandrin as a part of an extract produced by supercritical fluid extraction from vegetable mass of oleander in CO2 or supercritical fluid extraction from vegetable mass of oleander in CO2 in the presence of a modifier specified in methanol, ethanol and propanol; the extract additionally contains one or more other therapeutically effective agents taken together with the cardiac glycoside in extraction, containing at least oleaside A, oleandrigenine, neritaloside and odoroside; the cardiac glycoside contains nerifoline. A method for improving the clinical status of a statistically significant number of individuals in the population of individuals with the neurological disorder. A method for reducing or preventing a higher frequency of neurological disorder development. A remote method of treating cerebral accident in the individual.
