FIELD: biochemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to biochemistry, particularly to a transgenic plant which demonstrates an increase in biomass compared to a wild-type counterpart or untransformed plant comprising a glutamine phenylpyruvate transaminase transgene and a glutamine synthetase transgene, wherein each GPT transgene and GS transgene is operably linked to a plant promoter, as well as a seed to produce said plant. Also disclosed are methods of producing transgenic plants having increased production of 2-oxoglutaramate using glutamine phenylpyruvate transaminase transgene and glutamine synthetase transgene.
EFFECT: invention enables to efficiently produce a transgenic plant with increased biomass.
