FIELD: lighting.

SUBSTANCE: invention is designed for lighting and may be used in white light-emitting diodes, fluorescent lamps, lamps, automotive lamps and lighting design. Method for synthesis of white light phosphors based on rare-earth garnets (Y0.98Ce0.02)3Al5O12, (Gd0.98Ce0.02)3Al5O12, (Lu0.98Ce0.02)3Al5O12 includes mixing source oxides of metals, taken in proportions stoichiometric compound, and heating resulting mixture. To carry out synthesis at a variable pressure working volume with an initial mixture is first evacuated to a pressure of 10-2 Pa, and then filled with a mixture gas in a proportion of 95 % N2 to 5 % H2 pressure to 101,325 Pa, temperature is raised to a temperature in beginning of formation of the synthesised compound in range of 1,250-1,350 °C, raising pressure of reduced gas to 1.5 x 107 Pa and holding for at least 3 hours. Thereafter, gas is evacuated to a pressure of 10-2 Pa and held for at least 5 hours. Cooled at a rate of 80-100 °C/h to room temperature and obtained sample is removed.

EFFECT: phosphors have a single phase composition, proper isometric particles do not form agglomerates, with a particle size distribution D50 is 15-20 mcm, luminous efficiency is 120-101 lm/W.
