FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: batch for producing cerium-activated aluminate luminophores with crystal garnet structure of the general formula of Y3-x-yGdxCeyAl5O12, where 0≤x≤2.75 and 0.015≤y≤0.5, comprises a powder mixture of yttrium oxide (III), aluminum oxide, cerium oxide (III), gadolinium oxide (III), a reducing agent - metallic aluminum and sodium perchlorate as an oxidant in the following component ratio, wt %: yttrium oxide (III) 0-53; aluminum oxide 17.18-24.85; cerium oxide (III) 0.39-12.42; gadolinium oxide (III) 0-54.17; metallic aluminum 5.7-8.05; sodium perchlorate - the rest. The batch is being stirred for 20 min. Then exothermic reaction of the mentioned batch components is carried out in self-spreading high-temperature synthesis mode in open reactor at atmospheric pressure in the air. Sophisticated equipment and inert atmosphere aren't used during the luminophore synthesis so it is simplified.

EFFECT: luminophore illuminating parameters range is expanded.
