SUBSTANCE: invention relates to manufacture of pipes of complex profile on a vertical press. On lateral surface of container opening is performed in which matrix is set at right angles to axis of punch-holder in matrix, preform is fed into container. By turning press needle to align boundaries of its working area with a cross-section of inlet of matrix in preform along pressing axis is drilled through channel. Die is introduced into container with a press-washer and simultaneously exposed to male die on billet and press-needle rotation is resumed. Press needle is rotated with an angular velocity providing one revolution of needle when feeding metal blanks with die to one step of helical fin.

EFFECT: production of long tubes without using any additional equipment is provided due to that on opposite side of container into hole of pressure needle is made with helical cavities and projections on working part and with its end of drill, which is arranged at an angle to axis action press.
