DEVICE FOR EXTRACTION OF SHORT-CIRCUITING WEDGES, INTENDED FOR SWITCHING ON ELECTROLYSER FOR ALUMINIUM PRODUCTION Russian patent published in 2016 - IPC C25C3/16

Abstract RU 2583231 C2

FIELD: instrument making.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to device and method of extracting of short-circuting wedge before repeated switching on of temporarily disconnected reduction cell in row of reduction cells for aluminium production, installed between current leads of cathode units of temporarily disconnected and prior to preceding reduction cell. Each current lead has one upper horizontal surface and one vertical surface, where vertical surface of one current lead is located opposite vertical surface of other to form gap, designed to receive said short-circuting wedge with two parallel surfaces converging downwards at its installation in said gap. Device comprises facilities for capturing wedge and drive made as power cylinder related to upper horizontal surface of each current lead, oriented vertically and including case and piston with rod, wherein, a) case or rod are made integral with at least one horizontal support surface oriented downwards, arranged to be placed at same level with upper horizontal surface of each current lead at installation of said device for withdrawal of wedge above said wedge for its extraction and b) rod or case is connected with said grip wedge for providing opposite forces on current leads and wedge to allow their separation when actuating power cylinder for withdrawal. Invention also covers method of extracting of short-circuiting wedge by means of said device.

EFFECT: provided possibility of accelerated withdrawal without risk of damaging conductors and possibility of connection of reduction cells separately from each other.
