FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: disclosed is the method of making a soft silicone hydrogel contact lens having the capability of delivering a hydrophobic comfort agent during wearing. The hydrophobic comfort agent does not contain an actinically crosslinked group and includes a glycolipid, a glyceroglycolipid, a sphingolipid, a sphingo-glycolipid, a phospholipid, a fatty acid containing 8-36 carbon atoms, or a mixture thereof.
EFFECT: method enables to obtain the soft hydrogel contact lens which, when worn, releases hydrophobic comfort agents into the eye, which are the components of the tear film lipid layer, which can strengthen the tear film lipid layer and alleviate eye dryness.
