FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a simply articulated fuel flap intended and a method for installation thereof on body shell of a vehicle. Simply articulated fuel flap (1) intended to be fixed to body shell of a vehicle comprises flap bowl (3), flap panel (9) and hinge (13) articulating flap panel (9) to flap bowl (3). Fuel flap (1) comprises a plate fitting (23) fixed to flap bowl (3) and to which hinge (13) is attached plate fitting (23) comprises means of attachment to flap bowl (3), means of attachment to hinge (13) and means of indexing with respect to body shell of vehicle. Also disclosed is a method of fitting fuel flap (1), which uses a mounting jig indexed geometrically to side of body shell (5) in order to position plate fitting (23) on flap bowl (3) before flap panel (9) is attached to plate fitting (23).
EFFECT: technical result is creation of a fuel flap ideally closing flap opening, and method of mounting simply articulated fuel flap on vehicle body, which provides correct positioning relative to flap opening on vehicle body.
