FIELD: lighting.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing organic electroluminescent materials based on complex compounds of europium for further use in organic light-emitting diodes and devices (OLED). Described is a method of producing organic electroluminescent material 1,10-phenanthroline-tri-(thenoyltrifluoroacetone) europium (III) of formula [Eu(TTA)3(Phen)], where Eu is europium cation, TTA is thenoyltrifluoroacetone, Phen is 1,10-phenanthroline. Method involves reaction of europium chloride or its hexahydrate, thenoyltrifluoroacetone and 1,10-phenanthroline in ethyl alcohol at 40±5 °C. Hydrogen chloride released during reaction is removed from reaction zone using distillation together with ethyl alcohol. Disclosed method enables to obtain end product using a simple technique with output of not less than 98.0 % and purity of not less than 99.9 %, suitable for use as highly efficient emitter of red colour in making OLED structures.
